That’s all I can stand, I can’t stands no more!

What do you usually do when you encounter a behavior or activity that really makes you angry?  What I’m talking about could be something as major as the number of kids that will be raised without the influence of a father or something as minor as when your favorite store stops stocking your brand of peanut butter.

Are you one of those people who loves to jump on social media and find a way to complain about the thing that has you sideways? Or, do you do nothing and live with the status quo? Have you ever gotten so mad that it made you take action?

Have you ever said, “That’s all I can stand, I can’t stands no more”? Those were famous words spoken by the 1950’s animated hero Popeye the Sailor. Popeye was a rather mild-mannered ex-sailor with a skinny girlfriend named Olive Oil and a friend named Bluto. Just about every show was about Popeye encountering something or someone that made him so upset, it forced him to take action. Now and then he would get so angry he would make this famous declaration: “That’s all I can stand, I can’t stands no more!”

When was the last time that you felt that way about something you noticed?  I sincerely hope you find a way to take action when you feel that you should.  What’s my thing? I want every middle school student to have Godly, patient, and positive men and women walking with them through life.
